Coltsfoot

Coltsfoot (Tussilago Farfara) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family that spreads by seeds and rhizomes and is native to Europe and parts of Central Asia. The name tussilago comes from the Latin tussis, meaning cough, and ago, meaning to conduct or act. It has been used in traditional medicine and has been known since ancient times mainly as a medicine to treat respiratory problems. Its soothing, emollient and expectorant action makes it useful in most problems of the respiratory system, such as chronic cough, runny nose, sore throat, bronchitis and asthma. Caution, cough syrup in large quantities is considered toxic. It is forbidden to use it in children or people with liver problems.
