Argan Oil

The Argan tree (Argania Spinosa) is protected by Unesco as a world cultural treasure, as the area in which it thrives (Morocco) is constantly shrinking. Argan oil is considered one of the rarest and most expensive oils as it takes 100 kg of dried fruit (production of 6-8 trees) and 10 hours of hard work to produce 1 to 1.2 liters of oil. All stages of the work are done by a cooperative of Moroccan women, who have passed down the processing method from generation to generation, keeping the technique unchanged until today. It contains high percentages of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, Omega-9 and 6, carotenoids, terpenoids, polyphenols and tocopherols, as well as a significant percentage of linoleic acid. Argan oil when used on the skin acts as a waterproofing agent creating a barrier of protection, sealing in moisture and keeping the skin soft, supple and hydrated. It is suitable for all skin types and especially for mature and tired skin, as it stimulates collagen synthesis and increases its elasticity, firmness and youthful appearance. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and has a restorative effect on skin tissue, while it is ideal for broken and brittle nails, damaged hair or hair with dandruff. Due to its very high value, Argan oil is often adulterated with other lower value oils.
