Cardamom

Cardamom is a native herbaceous perennial plant of the Zingiberaceae family, which originates from southern India. It is one of the most expensive spices with a strong, unique taste, intense aroma and is particularly nutritious and rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It has been used for traditional medicine applications, to control asthma, tooth and gum infections, cataracts, nausea, diarrhea, as well as heart, digestive and kidney disorders.

Cardamom is mainly rich in iron, calcium and iodine and has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, as a blood purifier and as an antibiotic. It is thought to protect cells from oxidative stress, to help the body handle insulin better, and to strengthen and rejuvenate the whole body. It is also believed to have aphrodisiac properties.

Finally, studies have linked the consumption of Cardamom to preventing or reducing oxidative damage and inflammation in the body, which in turn may reduce the risk of cancer.
