Steatin is one of the most widespread cosmetic ingredients, as it is used in all face and body cleansing products, as well as in soaps. Its content is particularly high in cocoa butter and shea butter ingredients from which it comes after processing.
When stearic acid is used in cosmetic preparations such as creams, lotions, etc., it acts as an emulsifier (it binds oils with water), as an ingredient to increase the density of the cosmetic and as an enhancer of its moisturizing effect.
A proportion of Steatin of about 3% is sufficient to increase the density of a lotion. When Steatin is used in the production of olive oil soaps (cold method), it contributes to increasing the hardness and maintaining the shape of the soaps.
The amount required when stearic acid is used in soap making is not specific as it depends on the oils used.
* 100% pure Stearic acid (not mixed with palmitic acid).
