Boldo

Boldo (Peumus Boldus) is a species of tree in the Monimiaceae family that reaches a height of up to 12-15 meters and is endemic to the central region of Chile. A useful part of the tree in botany are its leaves.
Boldo is used to treat disorders of the gastrointestinal system and liver, showing impressive results in the case of gallstones, as it has the property of stimulating the flow of bile in the gallbladder. It effectively contributes to the improvement of digestion and the treatment of indigestion, bloating and flatulence and exerts a detoxifying effect on the liver by treating damage caused by chemicals and drugs.
Its leaves are rich in antioxidant compounds, mainly alkaloids and flavonoids, while it also contains an essential oil with a strong antiparasitic effect.
Boldo is a very powerful herb and is usually consumed in combination with other herbs. It should be consumed in small amounts and not for more than 2 weeks. It should not be consumed by people with chronic liver problems and alcoholics.
