What are Polyhydroxy Acids, and why choose them

Want gentle but effective exfoliation that won’t irritate your skin?

Discover the power of Polyhydroxy Acids (PHA) – the next generation of exfoliating acids, ideal for sensitive, dry, or mature skin.

PHAs - such as gluconolactone, lactobionic acid, and galactose - are large molecules that gently remove dead cells without irritation, while at the same time moisturizing and protecting the skin barrier. Unlike AHA & BHA, PHAs offer gentle exfoliation, hydration, and antioxidant protection, without redness or peeling.

They have powerful antioxidant and moisturizing properties that stimulate cell renewal, noticeably improving skin texture and tone.

With frequent use, they can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and gradually fade blemishes. They offer gentle exfoliation by removing dead cells so that the skin can breathe. They smooth and soften the skin structure while maintaining the necessary moisture levels and giving unique vitality and shine to problematic and aging skin.

PHAs do not cause sensitivity to the sun and can be used without fear on sensitive and reactive skin types. For very sensitive skin, it is recommended to use PHAs two or three times a week, gradually increasing the use to once or twice a day.

What are PHAs?
Polyhydroxy Acids are large-molecule exfoliants acting on the skin’s surface for mild exfoliation—ideal for sensitive or reactive skin.

What skin benefits do they offer?
They exfoliate, hydrate as humectants, protect via antioxidants, and strengthen the skin barrier for smoother, more radiant skin.

Are PHAs safe for rosacea or eczema?
Yes, due to their mild nature and minimal irritation potential, PHAs are appropriate even for inflamed or sensitive conditions.

How often should I use them?
You can use PHAs daily or 3-4 times per week, depending on tolerance. It’s best to start slowly.

Can PHAs be combined with retinol?
Yes, PHAs are often paired with retinol to enhance exfoliation and renewal with minimal irritation risk
