Borax

Borax has many uses today, as it is an ingredient in detergents, bleaches, cosmetics, fire retardants and metallurgical products.

In some countries it is used as a food preservative due to its high salt content and as a cooking ingredient, mainly in Asian cuisine. In the products to which it is added as an ingredient, you will recognize it by the code E285.

In the preparation of homemade cosmetics, Borax is usually used as an emulsifier, usually combined with Beeswax. You will find it in many recipes for lotions and creams. But mainly it is used as a component of homemade cleaners and detergents.

Try adding 3 tablespoons of borax to your washing machine to increase the strength of your detergent.

Also, try putting one spoonful of borax and one spoonful of baking soda in your dishwasher.
