Calcium carbonate

Calcium carbonate is one of the main ingredients of any toothpaste, as it contains substances that offer a mechanical cleansing action by removing not only the dental plaque from the teeth but also several of the surface pigments that affect the white color of the teeth. At the same time, it also offers teeth polishing. Usually calcium carbonate makes up 20-50% of a classic toothpaste.

Calcium carbonate is available in powder form and is water soluble. To make a tooth powder you can simply mix it with baking soda, bentonite clay and a few drops of essential oil (eg peppermint, peppermint, orange, mastic etc).
