Catuaba

Catuaba (Erythroxylum Catuaba) comes from the bark of a small tree that grows in the Amazon rainforest. In traditional Brazilian medicine it is used as an aphrodisiac and central nervous system stimulant. The substances it contains are believed to increase blood flow to the genitals, prolong erections and cause more intense orgasms. It is mainly used to enhance sexual arousal and treat male sexual performance problems. It is also used for sleep problems related to high blood pressure, nervousness, ongoing mental and physical fatigue, poor memory or forgetfulness and as a tonic. The decoction made from the bark of the plant is believed to help increase sexual arousal, fight nervousness and deal with impotence. A study by Manabe et al. (1992) showed that catuaba extract from Erythroxylum catuaba positively contributed to the prevention of potentially fatal bacterial infections and HIV infection in mice. Unfortunately, research on catuaba is limited, with few human trials. Therefore, many claims about the benefits of Catuaba powder can be considered unfounded. To prepare a drink, use 30 grams of the plant in half a liter of water. Put the plant in cold water and let it boil for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat, leave for 5-10 minutes, then strain.
