Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) tincture contains chemicals called allantoin and rosmarinic acid. Allantoin boosts the growth of new skin cells, while rosmarinic acid helps relieve pain and inflammation. It is applied only externally, topically to treat inflammatory disorders such as arthritis, gout, thrombophlebitis, osteoarthritis, sprains, fractures, muscle and ligament strains, and bruises.
The internal use of Comfrey tincture is no longer recommended, as it contains dangerous substances, toxic to the liver.
When used externally it should not be applied to areas of the skin that are open and have wounds and its use should not be extended for more than one month. It is forbidden to use Comfrey in children, the elderly and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also do not use if you have liver disease, alcoholism, cancer or other serious illnesses. Consult your doctor first.

Herbal tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts of herbs, usually steeped in alcohol to extract their valuable active ingredients. Alcohol is often used as it can extract components such as resins and alkaloids that are not water soluble.
Herbal tinctures are used as natural food supplements, as they do not contain chemicals and preservatives. They are very strong and should be consumed according to their instructions, while in cases of serious diseases according to the instructions of the attending physician.
The usual dosage is up to 1ml daily for no more than 8-12 weeks. They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
