Grapefruit

Grapefruit essential oil has a cool, sweet-sour refreshing citrus aroma and is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. In aromatherapy it is used to reduce anxiety, nervous exhaustion, lack of concentration, fever, cough and flu. It has antiseptic properties, which make it ideal for cleaning oily skin and unclogging blocked pores. It also contributes to the reduction of cellulite, as its use in massage has the property of expelling toxins from the tissues, stimulating the circulation of lymph, while at the same time its tonic aroma reduces the appetite, acting effectively against obesity. Caution! Causes photosensitivity, like all citrus essential oils, if exposed to strong sunlight immediately after application. It combines very well with Lemon, Bergamot, Neroli, Jasmine, Geranium, Lavender and Orange.

Grapefruit with the scientific name Citrus Paradisi is a fruit tree of the Rutidae family (Rutaceae), which reaches a height of 5 meters and is cultivated for its homonymous fruit. It is a citrus hybrid, an accidental cross between the sweet orange (C. × sinensis) and the pomelo or shaddock (C. maxima), both of which were introduced from Asia in the 17th century. In 2021, global grapefruit production was 9.6 million tons, with China contributing 54% of the total.
