Jasmine essential oil or Jasmine oil has a rich, exotic and particularly seductive aroma and is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world, as very large quantities of flowers are required to extract just a few drops of oil. It is mainly used on an emotional level to combat melancholy. However, it has been proven to successfully treat menstrual pains, as it has significant antispasmodic properties. It is considered a strong antidepressant with a tonic effect that contributes beneficially against depression, melancholy and ambivalence, giving euphoria and optimism. In cosmetology, it mainly cares for and treats dry and mature skins, as it increases the elasticity of the skin, while reducing fine expression lines and wrinkles. On a psychological level it warms the emotions and is associated with intuitive wisdom and perception. It combines very well with Bergamot, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Orange, Mandarin, Neroli, Rose, Sandalwood and Ylang-Ylang.

Jasmine or Yasmos, with the scientific name Jasminum Officinale is a climbing evergreen and deciduous shrub of the Oleaceae family. The Latin word Jasminum comes from the Greek word יאסמינון (myrrh), commonly known as jasmine oil. It has small, white flowers and a pleasant, sweet smell. Its place of origin is considered to be China, the Himalayas and Tibet. Today, however, its approximately 300 species are found in almost all temperate and warm regions of the world. France is first in the world in jasmine production.
