Peru Balsam

Peru Balsam essential oil is used in aromatherapy for respiratory problems such as bronchitis, asthma, laryngitis, colds and flu. It also relieves irritated skin, redness and eczema.
On a psychological level, it acts as an anxiolytic and relieves cases of nervous disorders. It has a very sweet aroma reminiscent of vanilla.
Combines very well with: Black Pepper, Jasmine, Lavender, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.

"Peru Balsam or Balsam comes from the plant with the common name Myroxylon Pereirae. It was originally collected in Central America during the period of the Spanish invasion of Central and South America. From there it was shipped to the port of Lima through Peru and erroneously acquired the name Balsam of Peru because it was sent through there. Its export to Europe began in the seventeenth century for use in German pharmacopoeia. Today it is extracted by artisanal process from El Salvador."
